To put together all the tape recordings, you can use the "Merge" feature in AudioLava. This will allow you to combine multiple recordings into one file.
I've been supplied with a copy of AudioLava Cassette Digitiser I purchased from Lidi. The software loads, then tells me it needs to update for Windows 8.1. It tries but cannot update half the files on the original. As they suggest, the program gives its best shot but then goes into shock and ends up having to be terminated. Is there a free edition that will solve this issue? Or will I need to buy a full version?

You might need to update to the version supported by Windows 8.1. To do this, simply visit the website and download the trial. However, the full version of the software is required in order to unlock its full power.
